Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
General Services & Coverage
Every piece is made to fit your actual space and daily needs. Because production is handled in our own factory, we are able to monitor the details closely - from measurements and material preparation to finishing, delivery and installation. You are not simply ordering cabinets; you are entrusting your home to a team that remains responsible throughout the project.
Send us your property location or postcode and our team will confirm the service coverage for your area. If your property is slightly outside our usual service zone, speak to us first - we will assess the project and advise you honestly rather than leaving you uncertain.
Working with one team can make it easier to maintain a consistent design language, coordinate materials and colours, manage the timeline and resolve technical details across different rooms.
Most importantly, there is a clear party responsible for the carpentry scope from measurement and production to installation and final inspection. When something needs attention, you know who to contact.
Pricing & Consultation
As a factory-direct cabinet manufacturer, we manage the design, production and installation process ourselves, without adding unnecessary dealer or middleman margins. Share your floor plan, measurements, site photos and preferred style with us, and we can prepare a preliminary estimate to help you understand the likely investment before you move forward.
We will also explain what is included, what may affect the price, and where you can adjust the specification to stay within budget. Our aim is not to push the most expensive option, but to help you choose a solution that makes sense for your home.
However, we usually recommend a showroom discussion before finalising the proposal. Choosing cabinets through photos alone can feel overwhelming. At our showroom, you can see and touch the materials, compare colours and finishes, test the hardware and speak with our designers about your lifestyle, storage habits, design preferences and budget.
Once the design direction is clearer, we will arrange a professional site measurement to verify the actual dimensions before production. The final quotation will then be confirmed according to the measured site and selected materials. Any changes will be discussed with you clearly, so you know what you are approving and why.
Yes. Our initial design consultation at the Cabinetku showroom is complimentary. We believe every great home begins with a good conversation.
During the consultation, our team will take the time to understand your lifestyle, available space, design preferences, storage needs, practical requirements and budget before recommending a suitable solution.
Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all design or pushing the most expensive option, we focus on helping you make the right decision based on your priorities, daily needs and budget.
Please note that site measurement, detailed design work or other project-specific services may involve a fee. If any charges apply, our team will explain them clearly before the appointment or service is confirmed. There are no hidden or unexpected charges.
Design, Materials & Customisation
Every Cabinetku project is planned around your actual wall dimensions, layout, appliances, storage requirements, colour preferences and daily routine. This allows us to make better use of the available space, reduce awkward gaps and create cabinets that feel like a natural part of your home.
Your cabinets are then fabricated in our own factory according to the approved design, rather than being adjusted from a pre-made unit at the last minute.
Our designers will guide you through the options and explain the practical differences, including maintenance, durability, storage capacity and cost. We will also tell you honestly when an idea may look good in a picture but may not be practical for daily use. The goal is to create a home that is beautiful, comfortable and easy to live in - not just impressive on the first day.
We offer a range of cabinet materials to suit different designs, locations, usage requirements and budgets. These include E1, E0 and SE0 melamine-faced chipboard, plywood, laminated boards, high-pressure laminate and other specialised materials depending on the project.
There is no single material that is automatically the best for every home. A kitchen, wardrobe, bathroom vanity and commercial space may each require a different balance of durability, moisture resistance, appearance, maintenance and cost.
Our team will explain the strengths and limitations of the available materials in simple terms. For homeowners who place greater importance on indoor air quality, we can also provide low-formaldehyde-emission board options such as selected E1, E0 and SE0 materials. We will recommend what is suitable for your actual application, rather than simply recommending the highest-priced board.
We can include removable access panels, ventilation openings and cable-management routes to keep the DB box, water valves, router, pipes and wiring less visible while ensuring they remain accessible for servicing.
We will not permanently seal important electrical, plumbing or maintenance points, as this may create safety issues and make future repairs more difficult. Show us their locations during the site measurement so we can plan the cabinet correctly.
Process, Installation & After-Sales
Once the design, materials and quotation are confirmed, we will provide an estimated fabrication and installation schedule. Because the cabinets are produced in our own factory, we can monitor the progress directly and coordinate the work more closely.
Renovation can be stressful when there is no communication. That is why our team will keep you informed if there are important updates, site dependencies or changes that may affect the schedule. We may not be able to prevent every unexpected situation, but we will not leave you guessing.
Our usual process is:
1. Initial consultation
2. Site measurement
3. Space planning and design discussion
4. Material and colour selection
5. Design confirmation
6. Quotation approval
7. Factory production
8. Delivery
9. Installation
10. Final inspection and handover
We believe homeowners should know what is happening at each stage. Before production begins, you will have the opportunity to review the design and quotation. During the project, our team will coordinate the next steps and highlight any decisions that require your approval.
You will not be expected to manage the cabinet project alone. We will guide you from the first discussion through installation and after-sales support.
If a requested change affects dimensions, materials, hardware, cost or completion time, we will explain the impact before proceeding. Changes made after fabrication has started may involve additional work or replacement materials, but we will not simply proceed and charge you without discussion.
Our responsibility is to help you understand the consequences of the change so that you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Built-in cabinetry is manufactured around these fixed elements, so inaccurate or late changes can create fitting issues and additional work. Our team will provide the relevant cabinet dimensions and requirements so your electrician, plumber or contractor can prepare the site correctly.
If you are unsure about the sequence, speak to us before the work begins. It is always better to coordinate early than to correct avoidable problems later.
Good coordination is important because cabinet dimensions, ceiling heights, wall finishes, electrical points, plumbing and appliance positions are all connected. Where necessary, we can participate in site discussions and share the relevant measurements or technical requirements.
You should not have to act as the messenger between several different parties. While every contractor remains responsible for their own scope, we will do our part to coordinate clearly and help reduce misunderstandings, delays and unnecessary rework.
Our relationship does not end the moment installation is completed. If you notice something that requires adjustment or servicing, contact our team and send us photos or a short video so we can assess the situation and arrange the appropriate follow-up.
Not every issue is necessarily caused by a manufacturing defect - water exposure, site movement, misuse or work carried out by other trades may sometimes affect cabinetry. Even so, we will review the situation with you, explain what we find and advise the next practical step.
We believe after-sales service is part of delivering a responsible project. When something is within our scope, we will take responsibility for it. When it is outside our scope, we will still communicate honestly and help you understand the available solution rather than simply disappearing after handover.
This work is quoted separately from your new cabinetry because the cost depends on the size, material, site access and how the existing cabinets were installed. Let us know during the site discussion, and we will include the required dismantling and disposal work clearly in your quotation.
Please check the required documents, renovation deposit, approved working hours and service-lift booking procedure with your management office. Where required, Cabinetku can provide supporting project information such as our company details, worker list, work scope and proposed installation dates.
Completing these arrangements early helps prevent delays to your delivery and installation schedule.
We work area by area and keep the installation zone separate wherever possible. However, you should expect temporary drilling noise, dust and limited access to the room being installed.
Tell us early if there is a newborn, an elderly family member, a person working from home or anyone with special requirements, so we can discuss a suitable installation arrangement.
Before work begins, our team will review the protection required for the flooring, walls and nearby furniture. After installation, we will remove our own packaging, cabinet offcuts and installation waste, and leave the work area reasonably clean.
Old cabinets, hacking debris and waste produced by other renovation contractors are not part of the standard installation cleanup. These can be quoted separately when required.
Avoid soaking the cabinet, abrasive cleaning pads, thinner, bleach and other harsh chemicals. Clean spills as soon as possible, especially around cabinet edges, joints and sink areas, because standing water may cause swelling or damage over time.
For grease, use a small amount of mild cleaning solution and test it on a hidden area before cleaning the visible surface.
Replacement depends on whether the original material, colour and finish are still available. A site assessment may also be required to identify the cause and extent of the damage.
Whether the replacement is covered or chargeable will depend on the cause of the damage and the warranty terms stated in your confirmed project documents.
Built-in cabinets are manufactured according to the exact wall dimensions, ceiling height, flooring, power points and layout of one specific property. Dismantling may damage the cabinet panels and surrounding finishes, and the units may not fit the new property without major modifications.
In many cases, building new cabinets for the new home is more practical and cost-effective. We can assess the existing cabinets first and advise whether relocation is worth considering.
